6/23 - Day 20

Willowcreek campground.  Rochester, MN.  I escaped early morning to beat a heavy rain.
Day's biking included a mixture of routes skirting Rochester, MN.  Here a stint along a housing development.
Bike route on overpass, skyline of Rochester, MN beyond.
Bridge along Douglas State Trail heading NW.
Former RR bridge.  Douglas State Trail.  Yes, that is fleece and long pants.  58F, rain, and persistent winds made for chilly conditions.
Detail.  Moss growth on iron.
Douglas State Trail through prairie grasses SE of Pine Island trailhead.
Prairie grass detail.  One of my favorites to watch wave in the wind while cruising.  A green ocean.
Cruising County 6 Blvd.  Heavy winds from the N/NW, cold conditions, and rolling roads made this one of the more challenging days of the journey.  A few horn-honkers (of the 'hello' type) fueled persistence.  Thanks to those unknown four-wheel friends!
This old barn was perched poetically on a crest.
This was either a painter that apparently thought the same, or Uncle Rico making a sequel?
