Austin, Minnesota. Home of the SPAM museum! As it turns out, SPAM (spiced ham) was invented in 1937, only one year after the first Usonian House (Jacobs I - 1936) was constructed.
The SPAM advertisements were quite good.

McBean House. Erdman Prefab. Similar to those seen in Madison, Wisconsin.
The corner expanse of glass, typical of the Erdman Houses, is sited to the back (private) side of the lot, and opens the corner to nature. Note the stepped (reverse corbel) CMU base, which further reinforces the horizontal read of the Erdman detailing. Also, what is incredible about this corner, is that the bottom two windows allow light to pass into the basement level, which is barely perceivable in this image thanks to intelligent detailing which conceals the floor plate in the horizontal mullion.
The full-height glazing reflects the sylvan surrounds.
Bulbulian House. Drive / entry.
The mullion patterning and intricate eave/soffit work make the Bulbulian House a challenging one to photograph since the roof line and landscape deny any horizontal read.
Stepped eave line as house jogs up the sloping site.
Keys House. Signifcantly bermed on multiple sides. Deeply integrated into site.
Emergence.
Eave and drainage at (front) backside of house. This is the 'front facade', bermed to capitalize on stable earth temperatures, mitigating heat loss + gain.
